Background

On 16 May 2023, the Regulation (EU) 2023/956 establishing the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism(CBAM) was published in the Official Journal of the EU, and entered into force the following day.

The CBAM will start its transitional phase as of 1 October 2023 and the definitive period will apply from 1 January 2026 onwards. During the transitional period, reporting entities, such as EU importers are required to submit CBAM reports quarterly. Companies supplying to Europe are expected to encounter administrative challenges related to reporting embedded emissions of their products, among other issues. It is essential for them to maintain communication and data reporting, and start emission reduction actions, as appropriate, to ultimately reduce the carbon costs in the definitive period.

In this webinar, we will provide an overview of CBAM and dive deep into the calculation of embedded emissions and offer practical ideas for corporate to reduce carbon costs.

Notes:

  • The presentation slides and recording video will be uploaded to this webpage after the webinar;
