On March 18, 2024, Thailand Pollution Control Department announced to open the Draft of the Sustainable Packaging Management Act (hereinafter the Act) for public feedback until March 28, 2024. After being finalized, the Act should enter into force 360 days after its promulgation in the Royal Gazette, except for the penalty stipulated in Article 40 to 51, which should become effective two years after its publication.
Glass, metal, paper, plastic, and composite materials are subject to the management of sustainable packaging. Business operators involved shall register with the Pollution Control Department.
