On June 10, 2026, the European Commission released the official Guidance document for Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste.1 This comprehensive guidance document aims to provide clarity on the interpretation of definitions, economic operators' roles, restrictions regarding hazardous substances, etc., to ensure uniform implementation across the European Union. The main provisions of the regulation will officially apply starting from August 12, 2026.
