On May 13, 2025, Malaysia's Department of Environment(DOE) released the proposed amendment to the Environmental Quality Act 1974 on the Unified Public Consultation (UPC) website. Public comments are welcome until June 16, 2025.
The proposed amendments legislate the implementation of green industry practices, environmental mainstreaming and make improvements in EIA reporting and pollution control management towards sound environmental governance.
