On May 5, 2026, the New Mexico Environmental Improvement Board (NMEIB) adopted the final rule (20.13.2 NMAC) implementing the state’s Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) Protection Act (House Bill 212). Effective July 1, 2026, the rule not only formalizes the phased PFAS product restrictions and reporting obligations established under the Act but also introduces detailed labeling requirements for products containing intentionally added PFAS.
