On May 5, 2025, in a decisive move to address the mounting issue of plastic waste, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) officially inaugurated a specialized Technical Working Group, the Flexible Plastics Recycling Working Group (FRWG), which is tasked with the critical mission of enhancing the recycling infrastructure and practices for flexible plastic waste across the nation. The launch signifies a strengthened commitment under the umbrella of the National Plastic Action Partnership (NPAP).
