As revealed by a press released by the Government Public Relations Department in June 2024, Thailand government has announced its intention to implement a carbon tax by 2025 as part of its efforts to address climate change and promote sustainability.
Thailand plans to introduce a carbon tax on emissions at their source by 2025, beginning with oil products. The initial rate is set at 200 baht (around $5.5 US dollar) per metric ton of carbon dioxide equivalent.
